Standing Seam Roof Systems
Tyler Building Systems, L.P. ("Tyler") offers a choice of
five systems that are unsurpassed in the industry. Each standing seam roof
system was engineered from concept to installation for strength,
durability, and weatherability. Standing seam panels are a true combination of form and
function. There is no better roof system available for metal building
systems. The numerous advantages of standing seam panels include:
No Roof Penetrations - Every roof penetration is an opportunity for a
leak. Standing seam systems utilize concealed clips to attach the roof
system to the secondary structural underneath.
Thermal Activity - Standing seam panels accommodate thermal expansion
and contraction through the use of concealed clips. The clips allow the
roof panels to move separately from the secondary structural members underneath.
Raised Seams
- Laps are raised 2 to 3 inches (depending on the roof
profile)
above the lowest part of the panel which is well above the water level as
it flows off the roof. The seams have a factory applied mastic to ensure a
secure, weather tight seam.
Attractive - Probably the best reason to purchase a standing seam
system is the aesthetics. These roof systems are now being used in residential
construction due to their attractive appearance as well as their long
life.

Trapezoidal Structural Standing Seam Roof Systems
Panels can be installed before or after the exterior walls are in place. All trim
is attached after the roof is installed. With a recommended minimum roof slope of
¼:12, these roof systems can be used on all types of construction: masonry, metal
or wood for either new construction or retrofit.
