Elevating Spirits Above Black Hawk - Tyler Building Systems' Distillery and Restaurant Project

Project Overview

Tyler Building Systems' Distillery and Restaurant Project

In the picturesque setting above the historic mining and gambling town of Black Hawk, Colorado, a family-owned distillery embarked on a journey to create a flagship facility that would not only honor their legacy but also stand as a symbol of craftsmanship and innovation. Tyler Building Systems was entrusted with the task of bringing this vision to life.

Distillery and Restaurant Integration

The project aimed to seamlessly blend the art of whiskey crafting with the warmth of hospitality. The 9,228 square feet metal building, designed to house both a distillery and a restaurant, reflects the convergence of tradition and modernity. The integration of these two elements is not just about production but also about creating an immersive experience for patrons.

Design Customization

Understanding the unique character of the location, the exterior of the metal building was customized to harmonize with the surrounding landscape. Stone wainscot provided a rustic touch, while transition trim and flashing seamlessly connected various architectural elements. The color palette, featuring S200 Charcoal Gray, Burnished Slate, and Rustic Red, not only complemented the natural surroundings but also added a contemporary flair to the structure.

Roof Design and Insulation

The 4:12 slope of the roof not only added an aesthetic appeal but also addressed practical considerations, ensuring efficient water runoff and drainage. The 9.5" roof and wall insulation played a crucial role in maintaining optimal temperature conditions for the distillery processes while providing a comfortable environment for restaurant patrons. A rake extension added a distinctive touch to the roofline, enhancing the overall architectural character.

Conclusion

The Black Hawk distillery and restaurant project encapsulate the essence of Tyler Building Systems' commitment to creating tailor-made solutions. This case study exemplifies how thoughtful design customization, integration of functional elements, and attention to detail can result in a metal building that not only serves its practical purposes but also becomes an iconic presence in its community.

Excellence Unveiled - Lindale High School Multi-Purpose Facility

Project Overview

Lindale High School Multi-Purpose Facility

In the heart of Lindale, Texas, where the spirit of athletics resonates in every cheer and victory, Lindale Independent School District (ISD) set out to build a facility that would mirror the excellence of Lindale athletics. The result was the Lindale High School Multi-Purpose Facility, a 63,705 square foot indoor practice space that stands as a testament to both functionality and architectural prowess.

Indoor Practice Facility for Lindale ISD

Built in 2020, the Lindale High School Multi-Purpose Facility is a clear-span building with an 80-yard synthetic turf field, providing a dynamic indoor practice space for various Lindale ISD teams and groups. The facility caters to a range of athletic activities, from football and soccer to baseball and more.

Versatility in Design

The design of the facility prioritizes versatility. A mechanically lowered divider net at the 50-yard line allows the area to be easily divided, accommodating different groups or activities simultaneously. Net cages, lowered from the ceiling, facilitate specialized practices such as batting, throwing, or kicking. Net goalposts at each end zone enhance the facility's adaptability for various sports. The inclusion of viewing decks on the north end and west side ensures that spectators can witness the prowess of Lindale's athletes firsthand.

Design Customization

Understanding the need for a facility that seamlessly integrates with the aesthetic of Lindale, the exterior features a masonry wainscot fully around the building. This not only enhances the visual appeal but also adds a touch of durability to withstand the Texas elements. The 2:12 slope of the Ultra-Dek Roof System, coupled with 4" roof and wall insulation, ensures an efficient roofing solution that caters to both structural and thermal requirements. Light-transmitting panels contribute to a well-lit interior, creating an optimal practice environment.

Community Impact

Beyond its functional attributes, the Lindale High School Multi-Purpose Facility has become a hub for community spirit. The pride of Lindale athletics is not just felt on the field but also within the walls of this facility, where aspiring athletes train and the community comes together to support its teams.

Conclusion

The Lindale High School Multi-Purpose Facility exemplifies the intersection of architectural ingenuity and practical functionality. This case study showcases how a metal building, customized to meet the unique needs of Lindale ISD, can become a symbol of excellence and community pride. As Lindale continues to shine on the athletic stage, this facility stands as a beacon of their commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a sense of unity within the community.
